  • Feeling chills,
  • Feeling sore throat;
  • New or worsening cough;
  • Swollen gums;
  • Pain when swallowing, skin sores;
  • Painful mouth sores;
  • Low levels of sodium in the user body-- confusion, headache, severe weakness, slurred speech, vomiting, feeling unsteady and loss of coordination;
  • Liver problems-- tired feeling, upper stomach pain, dark urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes) and clay-colored stools;
  • Extreme skin response - fever, skin pain, swelling in your face or tongue, sore throat,  burning in your eyes, followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling.

Other common side effects of bactrim may include:


  • Mild itching or rash;
  • Sickness, vomiting, loss of hunger;
